Databricks Developer - Azure

We are looking for a skilled Azure Databricks Developer with MicroStrategy expertise to join our data and analytics team. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in designing, developing, and optimising data pipelines on Azure Databricks and building enterprise-grade BI solutions using MicroStrategy. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to deliver scalable data and reporting solutions.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Databricks.
Build and optimise data transformation workflows using PySpark and Spark SQL.
Develop, enhance, and support MicroStrategy dashboards, reports, dossiers, and analytical solutions.
Integrate data from multiple sources, including Azure Data Lake, SQL databases, APIs, and cloud platforms.
Ensure data quality, validation, and governance across analytics solutions.
Optimise query performance and dashboard responsiveness.
Collaborate with business users to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
Create reusable data models and semantic layers for enterprise reporting.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Follow best practices for coding, version control, testing, and deployment.
Requirements:
Relevant experience in both Azure Databricks and MicroStrategy is mandatory.
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
Azure Databricks:
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
Expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL, and DataFrame APIs.
Experience working with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2).
Good understanding of Delta Lake architecture.
Knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) and related Azure data services.
Experience in developing scalable big data processing solutions.
MicroStrategy:
Strong experience in developing reports, dashboards, and dossiers.
Experience with schema objects, metrics, filters, attributes, and prompts.
Knowledge of MicroStrategy architecture and administration.
Expertise in performance tuning and report optimisation.
Database and Data Warehousing:
Strong SQL skills.
Experience with relational and dimensional data models.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in Azure Synapse Analytics.
Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps processes.
Knowledge of Python programming.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Understanding of data governance and security frameworks.
Mandatory Requirements:
5-8 years of total experience.
Strong Azure Databricks experience.
