Senior Product Engineer - P3

We are looking for a Senior Product Software Engineer to build and scale AI-powered backend platforms that power high-volume, customer-facing products. You will design resilient distributed systems, develop production-grade AI services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about backend architecture, cloud-native technologies, and building AI/LLM-powered applications at scale.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Python.
Develop AI-powered applications and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into production systems.
Build and enhance distributed microservices with a strong focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
Design resilient architectures with fault tolerance, retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, and graceful degradation.
Develop cloud-native solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Optimise latency, concurrency, and throughput for high-volume services.
Collaborate with Product, AI, Platform, and Infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions.
Improve observability through monitoring, logging, tracing, and performance optimisation.
Mentor engineers and contribute to architecture and technical design discussions.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in backend software engineering.
Strong programming experience in Python.
Hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered applications or AI-enabled backend systems.
Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed systems architecture.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Solid understanding of REST APIs, scalable system design, concurrency, caching, and asynchronous programming.
Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Familiarity with observability tools, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced product engineering environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, or similar AI platforms.
Exposure to reliability engineering, service-level objectives (SLOs), and high-availability architectures.
Experience building high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and modern DevOps practices.
