Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, setting clear goals and supporting their career development.
Own the planning, execution, and on-time delivery of backend projects with high quality and reliability.
Drive technical direction and architecture for backend services built on Java and Spring Boot.
Stay hands-on where it matters, reviewing code, unblocking the team, and setting a high engineering bar.
Establish and improve engineering practices around code quality, testing, observability, and system reliability.
Collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders to define priorities and roadmaps.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements:
8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record building backend systems.
At least 1 year of leadership experience leading projects, tech leading, or managing a team.
Strong, hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot (required).
High ownership: you take responsibility for outcomes end to end and hold a high bar for yourself and your team.
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
Solid grounding in system design, distributed systems, APIs, and databases.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
