The role is responsible for end-to-end business analysis and requirements management across aviation modules, particularly Crew Management Systems (CMS). This role ensures functional clarity, process optimisation, and alignment between business and technology teams, acting as the primary liaison for requirements gathering, documentation, and validation.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Engage with stakeholders to elicit business needs for CMS and aviation workflows (crew scheduling, flight ops, safety). Conduct workshops, interviews, and process mapping for crew operations.
Documentation and Standards: Prepare BRDs, FSDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile practices. Maintain traceability matrices and ensure compliance with aviation standards (FAA/EASA).
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product owners, architects, and delivery teams for scope clarity. Manage change requests and perform impact analysis.
Quality Assurance: Support UAT planning and execution; validate deliverables against requirements.
Leadership: Mentor junior BAs; enforce documentation standards across CMS modules.
The core requirements for the job include the following:
Core BA Skills:
Strong experience in requirements elicitation, gap analysis, and process modelling.
Expertise in BRD/FSD creation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Proficiency in tools like Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, and Azure AD. Domain Knowledge.
Deep understanding of aviation operations: Crew Scheduling, Flight Ops, Safety.
Familiarity with Crew Management Systems (CMS) and airline industry standards.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance (FAA/EASA) and crew legality rules.
Technical Awareness:
Basic knowledge of cloud-native platforms, API integrations, and microservices.
Understanding of REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, and enterprise data models.
Leadership and Behavioural:
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead BA teams and enforce documentation standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Certifications:
CBAP or PMI-PBA for business analysis.
SAFe Agilist for scaled agile delivery.
Airline domain certifications (IATA or equivalent).
Performance Indicators:
Accuracy and completeness of requirements documentation.
Reduced change requests and scope creep.
Stakeholder satisfaction and UAT success rate.
