Data Engineer - Support

We are looking for a motivated and detail-orientated intern - L1+ Data Engineering and Production Support - to join our team. This role offers hands-on exposure to production support, data engineering workflows, Python development, and operational excellence in a fast-paced environment. The intern will work closely with support, engineering, and DevOps teams to assist with production issues, monitor systems, troubleshoot data pipelines, and help improve the reliability of applications and operational processes.
Responsibilities:
Provide L1+ support assistance for production applications and data pipelines.
Monitor production systems, batch jobs, and data workflows for failures or anomalies.
Assist in troubleshooting issues related to data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
Help debug Python scripts and data processing jobs under guidance from senior engineers.
Analyse logs, alerts, and monitoring dashboards to identify and escalate issues.
Support CI/CD and deployment activities for applications and data services.
Assist with data quality checks and reconciliation activities.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) discussions and documentation.
Contribute to operational runbooks and support documentation.
Collaborate with engineering, support, and DevOps teams on continuous improvements.
Learn and follow incident management and operational support best practices
Help improve the reliability and stability of customer-facing systems and data platforms.
Contribute to faster issue resolution and improved operational efficiency.
Support teams in delivering seamless customer experiences through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
Bring fresh ideas, curiosity, and energy into operational and engineering workflows.
Strengthen collaboration between support, engineering, and customer success teams.
Play a role in supporting industrial AI and DataOps solutions that power global enterprises across energy, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
Take accountability for monitoring and supporting production applications and data workflows.
Proactively identify issues, anomalies, or failures and escalate them appropriately.
Show curiosity and initiative in troubleshooting problems and understanding root causes.

Requirements:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science, information technology, data engineering, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of Python programming and scripting.
Understanding of databases, APIs, and data processing concepts.
Familiarity with SQL and basic data handling concepts.
Basic understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Eagerness to learn production support, cloud technologies, and data engineering practices.
