Engineering Manager - Data

Responsibilities:
Own and drive the technical roadmap for the Data Engineering team, planning and delivering every quarter.
Execute product plans and manage delivery commitments with a strong focus on quality and timelines.
Architect and build scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure components aligned with 12-factor app principles.
Design and implement robust data warehouses and data strategies for SaaS products.
Define clear quarterly goals for the team and guide execution to achieve measurable outcomes.
Mentor engineers and help them deliver to the best of their abilities.
Set clear career paths for team members and support their professional growth.
Lead technical discussions and help engineers make critical architectural and design decisions.
Partner closely with the product team to develop and curate the data and platform roadmap.
Requirements:
8+ years of software development experience with 2+ years of engineering leadership experience.
Strong architecture and system design skills with experience building large-scale web services.
Hands-on experience designing and developing backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure components.
Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, especially AWS.
Experience designing and building data warehouses.
Experience in defining and executing a data strategy for SaaS products.
Strong technical leadership with the ability to drive critical technical discussions.
Even better if you have:
Knowledge of Kafka, Spark, and related data technologies.
Experience with Python, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern deployment technologies.
