Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Commercial Banking Chief of Staff team. The Chief of Staff team supports the CEO of Commercial Banking and the Commercial Banking leadership team in defining and executing business strategy, driving enterprise priorities, managing key business operations, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. The team also leads high-profile strategic initiatives that are critical to Commercial Banking's long-term growth, operating effectiveness, and organizational priorities.
This role is ideal for a highly analytical, intellectually curious, and influential professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical problem solving and analysis skills, executive presence, exceptional emotional intelligence, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving outcomes across a broad set of stakeholders. The role requires a trusted advisor who can work with highly confidential information and effectively communicate complex topics to senior executives.
In this role, you will:
Lead the development of executive-level presentations, briefing materials, strategic narratives, and business reviews for the Commercial Banking CEO, Commercial Banking Leadership Team, Wells Fargo Operating Committee, and other senior stakeholders.
Prepare concise, insight-driven briefing materials and recommendations for executive meetings, board discussions, industry engagements, client interactions, and key internal and external events.
Drive and support strategic initiatives that require advanced analytical capabilities, structured problem-solving, strong business judgment, and collaboration across multiple lines of business and support functions.
Leverage data, reporting, emerging technologies, and AI tools to improve analysis, identify trends and insights, enhance decision-making, and increase organizational effectiveness.
Synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information into executive-ready recommendations, translating data into clear business implications, risks, opportunities, and actions.
Identify, develop, and implement process improvements that enhance leadership routines, governance, communications, operating rhythms, decision-making frameworks, and organizational effectiveness.
Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders by helping align strategy, priorities, messaging, and execution across Commercial Banking businesses and support functions.
Facilitate leadership meetings, steering committees, and working sessions, driving alignment, decision-making, accountability, and execution against key priorities.
Partner closely with Business Management, Strategy, Reporting & Insights, Sales, Finance, Communications, Human Resources, Independent Risk Management, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to execute strategic priorities.
Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all organizational levels through exceptional communication, consulting, collaboration, and relationship management skills.
Handle highly sensitive, confidential, and time-critical information with professionalism, discretion, sound judgment, and integrity.
​Required Qualification
4+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher.
Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, investment banking, private equity, commercial banking, or a related strategic advisory function.
Demonstrated success supporting senior executives, executive leadership teams, or high-profile enterprise initiatives in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and the ability to develop clear, compelling, and decision-oriented materials for senior leaders.
Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, automation, data visualization, and emerging technologies to improve research, analysis, productivity, communication, and business outcomes.
Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence without authority, navigate competing priorities, and build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
High emotional intelligence, executive presence, business maturity, and the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality, responsiveness, attention to detail, confidentiality, and execution discipline.
Demonstrated resourcefulness, adaptability, resilience, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability for results.
Knowledge of Commercial Banking businesses, client segments, financial drivers, products, risk considerations, and industry trends, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly learn complex business topics.
Ability to work effectively in a highly visible environment with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and significant executive interaction.
Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality, exercising sound judgment, and managing sensitive information appropriately.
Job Expectations

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

U.S. only - Pay Range:
New York – New York Pay Range: $120,000 - $196,000 USD annual

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$120,000.00 - $196,000.00
