Performance Test Engineer

We are looking for a Performance Test Engineer to assess, benchmark, and optimise the performance, scalability, and reliability of enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as Gatling, Kotlin, and JMeter, along with a strong understanding of load testing methodologies and performance monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies, including load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability testing.
Create and maintain automated performance test scripts using Gatling, Kotlin, and JMeter.
Analyse application performance under varying workloads and identify bottlenecks affecting system responsiveness and stability.
Monitor key performance metrics such as response time, throughput, resource utilisation, and system availability.
Collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance-related issues.
Prepare detailed performance test reports and provide recommendations for optimisation.
Support capacity planning activities by evaluating application behaviour under expected and peak workloads.
Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks, standards, and best practices.
Participate in performance tuning initiatives for applications, databases, APIs, and backend services.
Ensure performance requirements are validated before production releases.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in Performance Testing or Performance Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with: Gatling, Kotlin, Apache JMeter.
Experience in designing and executing load, stress, spike, and endurance tests.
Strong understanding of performance testing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
Experience testing web applications, APIs, and distributed systems.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Datadog, or similar tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and test automation practices.
Ability to analyse performance results and identify system bottlenecks.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
