Job summary
As an Application Support Associate at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you support mission-critical banking applications across trading, treasury, risk, profit and loss, and regulatory/management reporting workflows. Job responsibilities
Provide Level 2 and Level 3 (L2/L3) production support for mission-critical applications supporting treasury, trading, risk, and reporting processes.
Monitor application and batch health; triage failures, data breaks, and performance degradation to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
Lead incident management activities including severity assessment, bridge coordination, stakeholder updates, and restoration to service.
Troubleshoot using Linux, logs, metrics, and SQL to identify root causes and implement workarounds.
Support batch orchestration and scheduling, including AutoSys and Airflow (including Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow), and validate upstream/downstream dependencies.
Partner with engineering teams to deliver permanent fixes; contribute to problem management (root cause analysis, action plans, and prevention), and execute release/change support (deployment validation, rollback readiness, and hypercare) under change governance.
Maintain operational excellence by supporting data pipelines and platform services (data lake and extract/transform/load patterns, Databricks), resolving data quality/process issues, creating and maintaining runbooks/standard operating procedures and operational knowledge, ensuring evidence capture and audit-ready documentation, identifying business-as-usual toil, implementing automation via Python and shell scripting to improve mean time to restore, planning and executing disaster recovery/service recovery activities (runbook validation, failover/failback testing, stakeholder coordination, and post-test remediation tracking to closure), and participating in on-call/shift coverage for global processing windows.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bring at least 6 years of application/production support experience supporting mission-critical systems in banking or financial services.
Demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Linux and SQL, including deep troubleshooting using logs and metrics.
Have hands-on experience with scheduling and orchestration tools, including AutoSys and Airflow (including Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow), and supporting batch operations and dependency validation.
Apply disciplined incident, problem, and change management practices (aligned to Information Technology Infrastructure Library principles), including clear, calm stakeholder communication under pressure.
Show experience supporting data platforms and pipelines, including Databricks, data lake patterns, and extract/transform/load concepts, with the ability to resolve data quality and process issues.
Use scripting and automation skills (Python and shell scripting) to reduce manual effort and improve platform stability and recovery outcomes.
Work with observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, and/or OpenTelemetry, and demonstrate working knowledge of cloud and modern runtime platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Kubernetes, including cloud-native services.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Have experience with distributed systems, application programming interfaces, and data integration patterns.
