Role Summary:
The ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and supporting ServiceNow applications and integrations across ITSM and enterprise workflows. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise in ServiceNow scripting, custom application development, integrations, and platform best practices, with the ability to support business‑critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
ServiceNow Development & Configuration
Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow modules including ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request).
Develop Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, Script Includes, and Catalog Client Scripts.
Build and maintain Service Catalog items, workflows, and Flow Designer solutions.
Configure forms, lists, notifications, approval workflows, and access controls.
Scripting & Platform Customization
Strong hands‑on development using JavaScript within ServiceNow.
Develop reusable and scalable server‑side and client‑side scripts.
Implement platform best practices to ensure performance, maintainability, and upgrade safety.
Work on ACLs, data policies, and role‑based access controls.
Integrations & Automation
Design and implement integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, and integration hubs.
Integrate ServiceNow with third‑party systems (Monitoring tools, CMDB sources, IAM, DevOps tools, etc.).
Support inbound and outbound data integrations and transformations.
CMDB & ITSM Enablement
Configure and enhance CMDB, discovery, and service mapping components.
Ensure CMDB data quality and alignment with ITIL processes.
Work closely with process owners to implement ITSM improvements.
L3 Support & Delivery
Act as L3 escalation point for complex ServiceNow issues.
Perform root cause analysis and permanent fixes for recurring defects.
Support release management, upgrades, patches, and platform enhancements.
Ensure compliance with ITSM, security, and audit requirements.
Required Skill Set:
Must‑Have Skills:
5+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development experience.
Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting.
Experience with ITSM module implementations.
Hands‑on with Service Catalog, Workflow Editor, Flow Designer.
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow data model and CMDB.
Experience working in enterprise / production environments.
Good‑to‑Have:
Experience with ITOM / HRSD / CSM / SecOps modules.
Exposure to ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CAD – preferred).
Knowledge of Agile / DevOps practices.
BFSI or regulated industry exposure.
