What Your Role Entails
To design, develop, and validate embedded control systems that enable efficient, reliable, and intelligent operation of air conditioning products. The role focuses on developing firmware and integrating hardware that controls various system components such as compressors, motors, sensors, and communication interfaces, ensuring optimal performance, energy efficiency, and product quality.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for air conditioner control systems (indoor and outdoor units).
Implement and optimize control algorithms for expansion valve operations.
Integrate firmware with hardware components such as sensors, motors, and inverter drives.
Collaborate with the hardware and mechanical teams for PCB bring-up and system validation.
Perform functional, performance, and endurance testing of control boards.
Identify and resolve software/hardware integration issues during prototype and validation phases.
Support EMI/EMC testing and implement required firmware countermeasures.
Fine-tune control parameters to achieve better system efficiency, performance, and reliability.
Prepare and maintain design documents, test plans, release notes, and change logs.
Ensure all development activities comply with company coding standards and quality processes.
Work closely with the testing, hardware, and production teams during development and validation.
Your success is grounded in
B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Eng with minimum 10 years of experience.
Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming for real-time applications.
Strong hands-on experience with 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers (Renesas, NXP, STMicroelectronics, Microchip, etc.).
Expertise in communication protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, Modbus, CAN.
Experience with ADC/DAC, PWM, timers, interrupts, and watchdog configuration.
Proficiency with debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, emulator, JTAG).
Familiarity with firmware version control tools (Git, SVN) and build environments (Keil, IAR, MPLAB, etc.).
Exposure to IoT and connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, BLE, and cloud-based monitoring preferred.
Understanding of PCB schematics, circuit behaviour, and basic electronic components.
Knowledge of firmware development lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and validation.
Experience with firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updates, power management, and secure bootloaders is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions during testing and validation.
Takes full ownership of assigned modules or features and ensures timely completion with quality.
Works effectively with cross-functional teams (hardware, mechanical, testing, and production) to achieve common project goals.
Responds quickly to design changes, testing feedback, or new technical challenges.
Keeps updated with emerging technologies in embedded systems, HVAC control, and IoT integration.
Clearly communicates technical issues, progress, and risks to peers and management.
