Role Description The State Marketing Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh, responsible for leading and executing the state-level marketing strategy for UPL’s portfolio. The role involves planning and implementing marketing campaigns, coordinating product launches, and driving brand visibility among farmers, distributors, and channel partners. This position oversees market analysis, competitor tracking, and data-driven planning to support sales growth and penetration in key territories. The State Marketing Head collaborates closely with sales, product management, and technical teams to align marketing initiatives with business objectives and seasonal crop cycles. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing budgets, supervising field marketing activities and events, monitoring campaign performance, and preparing regular reports and presentations for leadership.
Qualifications
Strong marketing and brand management skills, including experience in campaign planning, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
Proficiency in market research and data analysis, with the ability to interpret agro-market trends, customer insights, and competitor intelligence.
Experience in channel and field marketing, including dealer engagement, farmer outreach programs, events, and on-ground activations.
Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities, with skills in stakeholder coordination and cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create clear reports, marketing plans, and business proposals.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant experience in agricultural inputs, crop protection, or allied industries, preferably in regional or state-level marketing roles.
Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Comfort with using digital tools for marketing, analytics, CRM, and reporting; familiarity with agricultural digital platforms is an advantage.
Willingness to travel within the state as required for field visits, stakeholder meetings, and marketing activities.
