Pega Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka & Private Cloud)

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Pega Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in Pega platform deployment and administration on Private Cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in externalizing Pega services such as Kafka and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, containerizing Pega applications, and deploying solutions on AWS-based private cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support Pega Platform infrastructure in Private Cloud environments.
Configure and manage Pega externalized services including:
Apache Kafka
Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
Deploy and administer containerized Pega applications using:
Docker
Kubernetes
Amazon EKS
Helm
Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Configure and manage highly available Kafka environments including:
Topic management
Partitioning and replication
Security (SSL/TLS, SASL, IAM, ACLs)
Monitoring and troubleshooting
Manage OpenSearch/Elasticsearch clusters, indexing, retention, and search optimization.
Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
Support production environments, incident management, performance tuning, and disaster recovery activities.
Collaborate with application, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of overall IT experience.
3+ years of hands-on Pega Infrastructure/Cloud experience.
Strong knowledge of Pega deployment and administration on Private Cloud.
Experience externalizing Pega services such as Kafka and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
Hands-on experience with:
Apache Kafka / Amazon MSK
Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
AWS Cloud Services
Docker
Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, certificates, and access controls.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Pega Containerization.
Experience deploying Pega on Kubernetes-based platforms.
AWS certifications.
Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK/OpenSearch.
Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise security practices.

This JD aligns closely with the manager's feedback that the primary need is Pega Infrastructure Setup on Private Cloud with Kafka, Search externalization, containerization, and AWS expertise, not a Kafka-only engineer.
