Role Purpose
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Software Engineer to join the 1Finity engineering team. The apprentice will work closely with experienced software engineers on the development, testing, automation, and maintenance of next-generation optical networking and infrastructure management solutions.
This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, networking technologies, system integration, automation, and cloud-native platforms while working in a global engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support software development, testing, debugging, and maintenance activities.
Assist in developing backend services, utilities, and automation scripts.
Participate in software design discussions and code reviews.
Contribute to feature implementation under guidance from senior engineers.
Support API integration, data processing, and system monitoring activities.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for software validation and testing.
Learn and apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and Agile methodologies.
Support CI/CD, automation, and cloud-based development initiatives where applicable.
Required Qualifications
BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related disciplines.
Strong academic background.
Good understanding of programming fundamentals and data structures.
Knowledge of Python, C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts.
Familiarity with Linux environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills
Python development.
REST APIs and web technologies.
SQL and database fundamentals.
Git version control.
Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS).
Container technologies such as Docker.
Exposure to AI/ML, automation, or data analytics would be an added advantage.
