Functional Tester – Quality Engineering
Location: Bangalore/Pune
We are seeking a Functional Test Lead who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about quality assurance. This role focuses on validating business functionality across Trade Lifecyle platform and technologies, ensuring that software meets user expectations and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business and functional requirements.
Translate requirements into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Independently lead requirement clarification sessions and identify data dependencies.
Execute functional, regression, and integration testing across web, API, and backend systems.
Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
Participate in test strategy and planning for new features and enhancements.
Identify and report defects, track resolution, and validate fixes.
Contribute to end-to-end testing efforts in Agile environments.
Support API/UI testing, security testing, and performance validation as needed.
Provide feedback on usability and user experience from a testing perspective.
Review product changes throughout the development lifecycle.
Prepare and maintain test documentation and reports.
Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality delivery.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of SDET experience, with exposure to Fund Accounting or capital markets.
Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (manual and automated).
Experience with tools like Jira, Azure Boards, Postman, SoapUI, and test management platforms.
Familiarity with REST APIs, messaging systems (e.g., Solace, MQ, Kafka), and databases (SQL/NoSQL).
Exposure to automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber) is a plus but not mandatory.
Experience working in Agile environments with TDD/BDD practices.
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to identify risks and edge cases in business workflows.
