Role Description The Assistant Engineer role at Jindal Stainless is a full-time, on-site position based in Jajpur. In this role, the individual will support daily plant operations, assist in monitoring production processes, and help maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient functioning. Responsibilities include collecting and analyzing operational data, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinating with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and safety. The Assistant Engineer will also help implement standard operating procedures, participate in root cause analysis for technical issues, and contribute to process optimization and cost-efficiency projects.
Qualifications
Strong technical foundation in mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, or production engineering, with the ability to understand and work with industrial machinery and processes.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations, process control, and basic quality assurance practices, including familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements in industrial environments.
Proficiency in using engineering tools and software (e.g., MS Office, basic CAD or plant monitoring systems), along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
Effective problem-solving and analytical skills, with the capacity to identify issues, collect data, and support data-driven decision-making in a fast-paced plant setting.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and cross-functional teams on the shop floor.
Ability to work on-site in Jajpur in a shift-based environment, demonstrating reliability, adaptability, and adherence to safety and housekeeping standards.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Production, or related field) from a recognized institution; prior internship or experience in a steel or heavy manufacturing industry is an advantage.
