About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Role Overview:
As an ATE (Automated Test Equipment) System Engineer with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge of ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne-class systems), you will be responsible for the integration, configuration, validation, and sustainment of ATE systems used for semiconductor device testing. This includes tester hardware bring-up, instrument and load-board interface understanding, debug of system-level issues, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure high uptime, repeatable test performance, and smooth production readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
•Integrate and configure ATE systems including tester racks, instruments, handler/prober interfaces, and test cell infrastructure.
•Perform ATE system bring-up activities such as power-up checks, calibration readiness, instrument verification, and interconnect validation.
•Troubleshoot system-level issues across power, signal integrity, grounding, timing, thermal, and mechanical interfaces between tester, load board, and DUT.
•Support test cell readiness including cabling, docking, safety interlocks, pneumatics (if applicable), ESD controls, and environmental requirements.
•Work with test engineering teams to support first silicon / NPI / production ramp, ensuring stable test operation and high yield correlation.
•Drive preventive maintenance planning and execute diagnostics, spare management, and uptime improvement initiatives for ATE systems.
•Coordinate with vendor/OEM teams and internal stakeholders for hardware changes, ECOs, upgrades, and field actions.
•Document system configurations, validation reports, troubleshooting steps, calibration status, and release/hand-off artifacts.
•Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and fab/manufacturing protocols for production test floors and labs.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
•8–15 years of experience in ATE system engineering / tester integration / production test support for semiconductor devices.
•Strong working knowledge of ATE system components: instruments, pin electronics, timing systems, power supplies, relays, and tester I/O.
•Hands-on experience in debugging electrical + mechanical integration issues (cables, connectors, docking, contactors, thermal/mechanical fit).
•Familiarity with oscilloscope, DMM, spectrum analyzer / logic analyzer, and system diagnostic tools used in test labs.
Preferred Skills:
•Experience with Teradyne platforms and test cells (tester + handler/prober integration).
•Understanding of signal integrity, high-speed digital, RF basics, grounding/shielding, and noise isolation in tester environments.
•Exposure to load board / interface board / socket / pogo-pin / contactor concepts and manufacturing test fixturing.
•Knowledge of calibration, GR&R, correlation, and characterization support for production test setups.
•Familiarity with SECS/GEM, MES, factory automation, and test cell connectivity/log collection.
•Strong RCA capability (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and ability to work on customer escalations / line-down issues.
