Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
JOB PURPOSE
Own quality assurance and quality control for all civil, infrastructure, and EPC works at LML Industrial Park — roads, pipelines, drainage/CETP-STP, electrical, and structural works. Implement and enforce the approved Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and Quality Non-Conformance Penalty Rate Card across all contractors, ensuring work conforms to approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable Indian Standards (IS codes) before it is measured and certified for billing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement and maintain the site-wide Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) across roads, pipelines, electrical, and structural works, scheduling and witnessing stage inspections and hold points.
Enforce the Quality Non-Conformance Penalty Rate Card — identify, log, and classify non-conformances, and coordinate rectification with contractors and the Contracts & Procurement team.
Review and approve contractor method statements, material submittals, and test reports prior to execution of each work item.
Coordinate third-party and in-house material testing (soil, concrete, DWC pipes, electrical, structural) and maintain a consolidated test register.
Conduct routine and surprise site quality audits across all active contractor work fronts; issue observation/nonconformance reports (NCRs) with corrective action timelines.
Verify that completed work meets ITP acceptance criteria before the Site Project Manager certifies measurements for contractor billing.
Maintain QA/QC documentation — inspection checklists, test certificates, NCR logs, and as-built quality records — for each work package.
Support tender and contract preparation with quality specifications, ITP structure, and rate card inputs for new work packages.
Train and guide contractor QA/QC staff on LML's quality standards, checklists, and reporting formats.
Prepare periodic quality performance reports (NCR trends, closure rates, contractor-wise quality scorecards) for management review.
Escalate recurring or high-severity quality issues that pose risk to structural integrity, safety, or project timelines.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong working knowledge of IS codes and quality standards for roads, pipelines, electrical, and structural works.
Hands-on experience running ITPs and NCR/penalty systems on a live construction site.
Ability to read and verify work against BOQs, drawings, and technical specifications.
Proficiency in MS Excel for test registers, NCR logs, and quality scorecards; working knowledge of MS Office.
Firm but collaborative approach to enforcing quality standards with multiple contractors on site.
Clear written reporting for inspection records, NCRs, and management updates.
