About the Team
Telemetry team is responsible for building and managing Telemetry Platform which provides pipelines and tools to address observability needs of applications deployed on the Kuberenets or VM’s across GCP, On-prem or Stores environments. Primarily observability comprises application monitoring through Logs, Metrics, Traces and Alerting.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Telemetry Platform team. The team is responsible for building and operating the organization's centralized observability platform, enabling engineering teams to collect, process, store, and analyze logs, metrics, and traces across GCP, on-premises, and store environments.
As a Software Engineer, you will design and develop scalable telemetry services, improve platform reliability, optimize pipelines, and build solutions that help application teams gain deep operational visibility into their systems
Roles & Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain highly available telemetry platform services.
Build scalable solutions for log, metric, and trace collection, processing, and storage.
Develop APIs, backend services, and automation that improve the observability experience for engineering teams.
Enhance platform performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Work with technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Fluent Bit/Fluentd, Kafka, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and cloud-native observability tools.
Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
2 years of experience in software development or a related field
2 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC) through iterative agile development
Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Skill Set Required
Primary Skills (must have)
Strong programming experience in Java, Go Lang or any other programming language.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Experience building REST APIs and backend services.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Secondary Skills (desired)
Experience with observability platforms or telemetry systems.
Knowledge of OpenTelemetry.
Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.
Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
Experience with Prometheus and Grafana.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
