Role Description The Assistant Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division. This role supports day-to-day operations by coordinating distribution activities, monitoring shipment flows, and ensuring on-time, accurate deliveries in line with Blue Dart’s service standards. Responsibilities include supervising frontline teams, managing shift schedules, and overseeing operational processes to maintain safety, quality, and compliance. The Assistant Operations Manager tracks operational performance metrics, identifies process improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and enhance customer experience. The role also involves maintaining documentation, supporting audits, and contributing to the implementation of new systems or procedures to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications
Experience in operations management or logistics, including supervision of day-to-day distribution or transportation activities.
Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, shifts, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret performance data, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement practical solutions.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams, frontline staff, and internal stakeholders.
Working knowledge of MS Office and basic operations or warehouse management systems; familiarity with logistics or supply chain software is an advantage.
Understanding of safety, quality, and compliance standards in transportation, warehousing, or logistics operations.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are a plus.
Prior experience in express logistics, eCommerce distribution, or a similar industry within the Pune region is beneficial.
