This Position reports to:
Service Team Leader
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality service to satisfy customers. You will also showcase your ability by displaying clear understanding of timely action and care in your own area of responsibility.
The work model for the role is: #LI - Onsite
This role is contributing to the Automation – Energy division in Mumbai- India region. Main stakeholders are Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Control System Engineering Teams responsible for DCS performance, upgrades, commissioning, and ongoing system support.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Performing entry level field service tasks in ABB DCS 800 XA, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
Executing work on a first-time right approach with customers and ensuring the job is done on time and as quality standards.
Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative.
Qualifications for the role:
Possess 3-8 years of practical experience in service engineering for ABB Symphony or 800xA systems within the Oil, Gas & Chemical industry.
Full-time Diploma or Degree holder in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
Extensive background in DCS hardware & application engineering, HMI, library development, third party communication, testing, and commissioning.
Demonstrated proficiency in ABB System 800xA (minimum 1 year); knowledge of other ABB Systems like Freelance and communication protocols such as Profibus, Modbus, and OPC.
Skilled in executing brownfield DCS projects as Resident engineer including application modifications, retrofits, controller migrations, and on-site commissioning.
Capable of effective communication in English (written and verbal).
