Role Description The Fleet Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Floyon, responsible for overseeing daily fleet operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role includes planning and allocating vehicles, coordinating routes, monitoring fleet performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Fleet Manager will manage relationships with drivers, fleet owners, and transport partners, resolve operational issues, and maintain up-to-date documentation for vehicles and licenses. They will collaborate closely with operations, logistics, and technology teams to optimize utilization, reduce downtime, and support the seamless execution of intracity and intercity transportation. The role also involves tracking key performance metrics, implementing process improvements, and supporting initiatives that enhance service quality and reliability.
Qualifications
Experience in fleet management, transportation operations, or logistics supervision, preferably in a high-volume environment.
Strong skills in route planning, load optimization, and vehicle allocation to achieve on-time performance and cost efficiency.
Knowledge of fleet safety standards, regulatory requirements, and compliance procedures for commercial vehicles.
Proficiency with logistics or fleet management software, tracking tools, and basic data analysis using spreadsheets or similar tools.
Effective stakeholder management and communication skills for working with drivers, fleet owners, clients, and internal teams.
Demonstrated ability to solve operational problems, make timely decisions under pressure, and manage escalations.
Strong organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining accurate records of vehicles, insurance, permits, and maintenance.
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Prior experience in technology-enabled logistics or startup environments is an advantage.
