Job summary
As a Fund Controller Senior Associate in the Product Administration Team, you will oversee service providers supporting registered and private investment funds to help ensure accurate operations, high-quality reporting, and strong risk and control practices. You will collaborate across portfolio, risk, legal, compliance, product, and client teams to deliver timely oversight outcomes and clear governance materials. You will support continuous improvement through data-driven reporting and process enhancements.
Job responsibilities
Execute a risk-based oversight approach across fund operations activities, including net asset value processes, expenses, distributions, fee billing, and price publication
Review daily and periodic fund activity outputs from service providers, identify exceptions, and drive timely issue resolution and escalation
Review fund financial statements and coordinate audit support activities with internal stakeholders and external auditors
Review and oversee preparation and submission of fund regulatory filings (e.g., N-PORT, N-CEN, NPX and other applicable filings)
Maintain oversight records and support accurate data entry and upkeep in internal systems and databases (as applicable to the role)
Monitor legal publication and disclosure deliverables (e.g., prices, prospectuses, notices) and track completion against requirements
Oversee dividend and distribution processes, including controls, timelines, and reconciliation checkpoints
Partner with colleagues in the United States and other locations to ensure consistent oversight practices and effective handoffs
Prepare governance and oversight materials (including meeting minutes and 15(c) materials, where applicable) for relevant committees or boards
Participate in vendor oversight routines, assess service delivery performance, and track remediation actions to closure
Produce metrics and management reporting that highlight key risks, incidents, themes, and progress against initiatives
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
8 years of experience in fund services, with hands-on exposure to fund accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting for investment funds
Demonstrated knowledge of registered investment fund operations and oversight practices, including controls and exception management
Working knowledge of relevant accounting and reporting frameworks (e.g., US GAAP and/or IFRS) and applicable investment fund regulations (e.g., Investment Company Act of 1940)
Experience reviewing, supporting, or overseeing regulatory filings and related audit readiness activities for investment funds
Ability to apply core fund concepts in oversight activities, including net asset value, valuation considerations, custody, fees, and transaction processing impacts
Understanding of reconciliation processes (including cash and stock reconciliations) and the ability to investigate breaks and root causes
Ability to manage deliverables across multiple stakeholders, including service providers and internal partners, with clear tracking and follow-through
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document oversight outcomes clearly and concisely
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment in escalating risk and control concerns
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Demonstrated commitment to risk management and control discipline, including adherence to policies and documented procedures
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant
Experience supporting U.S. mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), interval funds, collective investment funds, and/or private funds relying on Section 3(c)(7)
Experience with complex instruments and capital markets concepts relevant to fund operations oversight
Working knowledge of U.S. financial reporting and disclosure requirements applicable to investment funds (e.g., Regulation S-X, where relevant)
Experience using automation or analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Xceptor, Python) to improve oversight workflows, reporting, and control evidence production
Practical prompt-engineering skills to improve documentation quality and operational efficiency, with appropriate governance and controls
Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes
