Senior Fire Safety Officer
The Fire Safety Officer / Manager is responsible to support the Plant on all matters related to Fire and Life safety of employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION
They will be responsible to:
Implement and Monitor the Fire Safety Policies, Standards, and SOPs under the guidance of Corporate Fire Safety Manager
Train and educate employees on fire safety, emergency preparedness and hot work permit related topics
Conduct regular training and fire drills for the plant fire crew
Supervise the maintenance of fire protection and detection system to ensure 100% availability round the clock
Manage hot work permits and confined space permits
Maintain fire related statutory documents for the plant
Implement robust emergency management framework under corporate guidance
Plan and Lead Fire Emergency Preparedness and associated Mock Drills
Build emergency response capability
Lead the fire crew during emergency calls
Ensure compliance with National Building Code (NBC), State Fire Service Act and other statutory fire safety requirements
Conduct Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Safety Audits, and ensure Management of Change (MOC) compliance related to fire safety
Oversee design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection systems (Fire Alarm, Hydrant, Sprinkler, Gas Suppression, etc.).
Extend support for new projects and expansions from “Fire safety” perspective
Lead to Investigate fire incidents and fire related near misses; implement corrective and preventive actions
Stay current with industry standards and best practices on fire protection
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience in manufacturing / heavy industry
Leadership capability
Strong understanding of industrial fire safety systems and standards
Knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and FM Global requirements
Knowledge of fire drills
Exposure to latest tools and technologies related to fire and life safety
LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS
English, Hindi & local languages based on location of deployment i.e. Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Konkani
EXPERIENCE
15 to 20 years in Fire Safety (Officer cadre)
LOCATION
Arkonam(Tamil Nadu), Tiruvottiyur(Tamil Nadu), Trichy(Tamil Nadu), Puducherry, Medak(Telangana), Ankenpally(Telangana), Goa, Kottayam(Kerala), Dahej (Gujarat)
