About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

About Alkem:
Alkem Laboratories Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Mumbai, that manufactures and sells pharmaceutical generics, formulations and nutraceuticals in India and globally over 50 countries. We have consistently been ranked amongst the top five pharmaceutical companies in India. Our portfolio includes illustrious brands like Clavam, Pan, Pan-D, and Taxim-O, which feature amongst the top 50 pharmaceutical brands in India.
About Alkem GCC:
Alkem's Global Capability Centre in Airoli, Navi Mumbai is the company's transformation engine. The GCC consolidates and runs global processes across HR Operations, IT, Sales Enablement, Procurement and Master Data for Alkem's domestic and international entities, with Finance and Supply Chain on the transition roadmap. The mandate is AI-led automation, international process transition and capability building.
Role purpose:
The Global Process Owner holds design authority over the entire global process scope in their domain, not only over the portion delivered from the GCC. Undocumented local variation is the single largest obstacle to transition and to automation. This role owns one global standard per process, names and dates every permitted variant, and holds the authority to refuse a variant that has no justification. The role is accountable for the performance of the process wherever it runs, and is the process-side owner for every transition wave in the domain.
Key responsibilities:
1.Global Process Design Authority
Own the design of every process in the domain across all entities and geographies, including the portion executed outside the GCC.
Publish one documented global standard per process, with the decision rules, tolerances, exception paths and control points stated explicitly.
Approve or reject change requests to the standard. A change enters the standard through this role or it does not enter it.
Chair the global process forum with country and function representatives, and carry unresolved matters to the Head of GCC and the relevant functional leadership.
2.Variant Governance
Build and maintain the variant register: every deviation from the standard, its justification, its owner and its review date.
Retire variants that carry no statutory, regulatory or evidenced commercial justification, and report the reduction against baseline.
Distinguish statutory variation, which is permanent, from historical variation, which is not.
3.Process Performance
Own the domain metric set: cycle time, first time right, cost to serve, autonomy rate and exception volume, reported monthly against agreed definitions.
Investigate variance and drive it to a named root cause and owner rather than reporting it.
Set and defend service commitments with the functions the process serves.
4.Transition Ownership
Act as the process-side owner for every transition wave in the domain.
Sign off scope baseline, knowledge transfer completion, parallel run results and steady state acceptance.
Ensure each wave lands on the global standard rather than replicating a local variant into the center.
5.Automation Demand and Acceptance
Own the process side of the automation backlog for the domain: what is automated, in what order and why.
Define the acceptance criteria a build must meet, including the accuracy threshold measured against a human baseline.
Sign off user acceptance before any solution enters production, and confirm the benefit after it does.
6.Control Effectiveness
Own the control set embedded in the domain's processes and the evidence it produces.
Support internal audit and statutory audit for the domain, and close process-related findings to agreed dates.
Ensure that where automation replaces a manual control, an equivalent or stronger control is designed in.
Candidate profile:
Experience
12 to 16 years, with at least four years owning a process end to end across multiple geographies or legal entities.
Direct experience holding a design authority position.
Deep functional depth in the domain. Role 1 requires HR Operations across the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, background verification, employee data, payroll input, expense and exit, together with sales force enablement and field operations support. Role 2 requires source to pay across requisition, purchase order, invoice processing and vendor management, together with finance operations including accounts payable, and exposure to revenue adjustment processing such as gross to net.
Multi-entity or multi-country operating experience is mandatory.
Pharmaceutical or regulated industry exposure preferred.
Technical Skills
Process design and documentation to an auditable standard, including decision rules and exception taxonomy.
SuccessFactors as the HR system of record, Field force automation, and talent acquisition platforms.
SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, and finance operations.
Process performance measurement and root cause analysis.
Working knowledge of automation and AI capability sufficient to write acceptance criteria that a build team can meet.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Commerce or Science. MBA preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above is an advantage. Domain certification relevant to the seat is welcome.
