Role Summary The Industry Solution Architect - Insurance is responsible for shaping, designing, and governing end-to-end insurance solutions that align business outcomes with robust, scalable architectures. The role blends deep insurance domain expertise with hands-on solution architecture, ensuring solutions are practical, differentiated, and grounded in real insurer operating models.
The role supports pursuits and programs across major insurance markets including the US, UK, EU, Canada, ANZ, and ASEAN, requiring strong awareness of regional regulatory, operational, and technology considerations.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Solution Architecture & Design
Architect end-to-end insurance solutions spanning business processes, core platforms, digital channels, data, integration, and operations.
Design business solution architectures across P&C, Life & Annuities, Specialty, Reinsurance, Pension, and Supplemental Health.
Develop functional and technical blueprints that clearly map client requirements to Coforge capabilities, platforms, and delivery models.
Define business architecture, solution patterns, and reusable assets to support consistency across pursuits and programs.
Sales & Pursuit Support
Partner with Sales, Client Partners, and Industry Leads to support opportunity qualification and solution shaping.
Contribute proposals, solution sections, executive summaries, and client presentations for strategic deals.
Participate in client discussions to explain solution approaches, architectural choices, and delivery implications in clear business terms.
Delivery Alignment & Governance
Ensure proposed solutions are realistic, deliverable, and aligned with delivery capabilities and constraints.
Work closely with delivery architects and engineering teams to govern solution integrity through execution.
Support transition from pre-sales to delivery, maintaining architectural continuity and intent.
Technology & Industry Insight
Track emerging insurance platforms, core modernization approaches, cloud patterns, data architecture, and AI adoption.
Apply industry and technology trends to evolve solution approaches and recommend modernization roadmaps.
Contribute to the definition of new insurance offerings, accelerators, and solution assets.
Architectural & Domain Expectations
The Solution Architect is expected to think beyond point solutions, connecting insurer business outcomes to architecture decisions. This includes understanding insurer operating models, regulatory constraints, and modernization paths, and making pragmatic trade-offs that balance innovation with delivery feasibility.
Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications Experience
12 to 15 years of experience in insurance solution architecture, consulting, or large-scale transformation roles. Proven experience architecting solutions for insurers across at least two major global markets. Hands-on involvement in presales, solution shaping, and delivery transition for complex insurance engagements.
Functional & Domain Expertise
Strong domain understanding across one or more insurance sub-domains: P&C, Life & Annuities, Specialty, Reinsurance, Pension, and Supplemental Health.
Solid knowledge of insurance core systems, policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, and distribution.
Experience with integration architectures, data platforms, cloud-native solutions, and API-led ecosystems.
Familiarity with insurance modernization themes such as core replacement, digital experience platforms, data & analytics, and AI-enabled operations.
Architectural & Collaboration Skills
Ability to translate complex architectural concepts into clear, business-friendly explanations.
Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Industry Leads, Delivery, and Engineering teams.
Communication & Professional Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to executive-level solution narratives.
Ability to influence solution direction through credibility, clarity, and structured thinking.
Bachelor's degree required.
Business architectural qualifications preferred.
