Job Requirements
Job Title: Data Senior Engineer
Role Description
The Data Senior Engineer is responsible for building and operationalizing data migration standards, tools, and pipelines to support the migration of legacy SQL Server applications to Google Cloud Platform using BigTable and AlloyDB. The role focuses on designing scalable cloud native data solutions, ensuring data quality, integrity, and consistency, and enabling enterprise analytics and operational workloads. The engineer collaborates with cloud architects, DevOps teams, business stakeholders, and data governance teams to deliver secure, reliable, and high performance data migration solutions for consumer banking applications.
Job Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines supporting migration from SQL Server to Google Cloud Platform. Design optimized database schemas for BigTable and AlloyDB. Execute historical data migration while ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and minimal downtime. Collaborate with cloud architects and DevOps teams to provision cloud infrastructure using Terraform. Develop API integrations for database CRUD operations and ensure functional equivalence between legacy and cloud native applications. Build and maintain automated test cases to validate data migration, database operations, and system performance. Partner with data governance teams to curate enterprise data assets and promote governed datasets. Communicate migration progress, technical solutions, and data quality outcomes to technical and business stakeholders. Participate in Agile delivery, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
