Overview
Mastercard’s Transfer Solutions team in EEMEA is driving at scale innovation and growth to meet today’s demands for simple, certain, and secure international and domestic payments by individuals and businesses of all sizes. Mastercard Move is a portfolio of integrated assets and capabilities designed to service key verticals, customer segments and multiple payment flows. Through simple connectivity means, we enable partners the ability to reach a variety of endpoints—account, card, mobile wallet, cards and cash out locations —nearly anywhere in the world.
The organization is looking for a Director, Product Management (Pricing & Assurance), Mastercard Move as part of the EEMEA Product Management Team for Cross Border Payments, to work with customers, who are primarily large Financial Institutions, Fin Techs, Bureau De Changes / Exchange Houses or Government Clearing Schemes to further the strategic and commercial agenda of Mastercard in the region focused on Cross Border Payments, which includes Low Value B2B / Commercial Payments, P2P Remittances and Purpose-based payments like Bill Payments, Tuition Payments, Utility, Social Security etc.
The ideal candidate is aware of the Cross-Border Payments landscape and is aware of the intricate dynamics of how money moves between Institutions and Borders, being familiar with the role Correspondent and Bilateral Banking arrangements play in the setup, the evolving nature of SWIFT (and its evolution to ISO messaging standards), existing Settlement & Funding mediums, helping to identify the gaps and solutionize areas where Mastercard’s own and partner led solutions can add value.
Role
• This is a Pricing and Assurance role at its heart where you will work with Product Sales teams / Account Managers to ensure we are able to provide best commercial value to our customers alongside safeguarding long-term financial interests for the company.
• Often, you would work with customers directly to help them formulate the right value story / financial model to ensure the product is able to provide the best Value Proposition to our clients and their customers.
• Prepare / facilitate complex business cases within Mastercard at a customer / deal / portfolio level to ensure the right investments / financial support / prioritization is done for opportunities worth the merit.
• Own the budgeting and forecasting cycle for the business, and partner with Finance colleagues upstream and Sales colleagues downstream to ensure we can project and hit the business numbers.
• Formulate and track underlying business driver and enabler metrics on weekly / fortnightly / monthly level with cross-functional teams – including delivery timelines, growth rates etc. as relevant.
• Executive presentation outlining business direction and facilitation of QBR / MBR with senior leaders and often with strategic clients. Partner for strategy refresh cycles to evaluate what’s working v/s not.
• Act as PMO for key internal work-streams which affects revenue realization – like Network health and breadth, FX constructs, Deal Incentive structures etc.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Understands cross-border payments at its’ core and the lever(s) that influence the commercial health of the product and the business at large.
• Understanding of financial and reporting principles of key metrices that influence business development.
• Be able to work horizontally in a highly matrixed organization with overlapping ownership and influence. Be able to get the work done through influence, reasoning rather than authority.
• Very strong with Excel and PowerPoint as that would effectively be 70% of your work – pricing, governance, reporting.
• Strong communicator and have the temperament to be able to lead client facing conversations independently.
• If you have done a pricing role in the past in the industry – it’s a plus. Product FP&A candidates may also be fit with extension.
