Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement central quality standards, systems, procedures, and KPIs across manufacturing units and project sites.
Establish and monitor Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standards.
Drive quality improvement initiatives across design, procurement, fabrication, welding, painting, sheeting, dispatch, and erection processes.
Conduct process audits, product audits, system audits, and quality reviews across plants and sites.
Monitor and improve key quality parameters such as NCR, rejection, rework, customer complaints, COPQ, and first-pass yield.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, 8D, and corrective/preventive action initiatives for recurring quality issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant IS/ASTM/AWS/EN codes and customer specifications, wherever applicable.
Strengthen quality control for structural steel fabrication, welding, dimensional inspection, surface preparation, painting/coating, and sheeting.
Work closely with Design, Production, Projects, Procurement, Sales, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and standardize inspection plans, checklists, quality formats, SOPs, and control plans.
Analyze quality data and prepare MIS, dashboards, management reports, and improvement plans.
Build quality capability through training, audits, knowledge sharing, and competency development of plant and project quality teams.
Manage and improve vendor/supplier quality through audits, inspections, and performance monitoring.
Lead resolution of customer complaints and major quality escalations within defined timelines.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of PEB / structural steel fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), PQR, WPQ, welding inspection and NDT.
Understanding of dimensional inspection, fabrication tolerances, surface preparation and painting/coating systems.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, Quality Control Plans, ITP, NCR, CAPA, RCA, 8D, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
Familiarity with AWS D1.1, IS 800, IS 2062, IS 814, IS 816, IS 9595, ASTM/EN standards and customer-specific specifications.
Strong analytical, auditing, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and quality reporting/MIS tools.
