Job Summary:
The Middle Office Trade Operations Sr Analyst plays a key role in the trade lifecycle by ensuring the accurate and timely capture, confirmation, and settlement of trades. The successful candidate will be a mature self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment. This person needs to be able to resolve conflict within a short period of time. This person will be intellectually curious, intuitive, trustworthy and have the highest ethical standards. In addition, he/she will be effective addressing a number of internal and external audiences in a professional manner. This person will add value by working on a number of simultaneous tasks with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor trade posting process
2. Monitor trade affirmation process to ensure proper allocation/delivery from counterparties
3. Efficiently identify and resolve transaction discrepancies between client and counterparties
4. Manage the cash flows associated with trades and transactions, including life cycle events
5. Review booking of corporate actions and dividends/coupons to ensure accurate position and p/l attribution
6. Review of cash and position reconciliations
Knowledge:
1. Exceptional written and oral communication skills
2. Excellent people skills
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (ability to create macros is a plus)
4. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and effective time management skills
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks under extremely time sensitive conditions
6. Excellent analytical skills
7. Intellectually curious
Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
2. Three years of industry experience in trade operations
3. Hold themselves accountable and is passionate about delivering high quality work and servicing clients
Salary Range:
$52,800 - 79,200 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
