Role Description The Senior Plastic Mould Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Haveli, responsible for leading end-to-end design of plastic injection moulds and related tooling. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting customer requirements and product drawings, creating detailed 3D and 2D mould designs, selecting materials and components, and ensuring manufacturability and durability of moulds. The role involves collaborating with mechanical and production teams, reviewing and optimizing designs for cycle time, part quality, and ease of maintenance, and resolving design-related issues during trial and commissioning. The engineer will also perform design reviews, make engineering changes based on trial feedback, and maintain design documentation and standards to support quality and repeatability. Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to process and design improvements are key aspects of this senior position.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for plastic moulds and tooling.
Candidates should possess solid Mechanical Engineering knowledge, including materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerance analysis.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar) for 3D modelling and detailed drawings.
Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering understanding related to mould components such as hot runner systems or sensors (preferred but not mandatory).
Relevant experience in plastic injection mould design, die and mould manufacturing, or precision tooling, typically 5+ years in a similar role.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications, and to perform design calculations where required.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional shop-floor and engineering teams.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related technical field.
