Role Description The Model Maker will create detailed physical models based on architectural, engineering, and industrial designs, ensuring accuracy in scale, form, and materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting drawings, preparing materials, fabricating components, assembling models, and finishing surfaces to a high standard. The role involves collaborating with designers and clients to clarify requirements, making prototypes to test design concepts, and maintaining tools, equipment, and a safe workspace. The Model Maker will also document processes, manage timelines for multiple projects, and assist in improving model-making techniques and workflows. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Model Building and Prototyping, with experience creating detailed physical models from design specifications.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Drawing for interpreting technical plans and preparing model layouts.
Hands-on experience with Machining and workshop tools, including cutting, shaping, and finishing materials safely and accurately.
Attention to detail, spatial awareness, and the ability to work with various materials such as plastics, wood, metal, foam, and resin.
Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings; prior experience in a model-making, fabrication, or product design environment is an advantage.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site and manage project deadlines.
Relevant technical diploma or degree in industrial design, architecture, engineering, or a related field preferred.
