Role Description The Estimation Engineer (MEP) will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for solar and MEPF projects, with a focus on industrial facilities. This full-time, on-site role in Ludhiana involves developing detailed BOQs, analyzing drawings and specifications, and coordinating with design, procurement, and project teams to validate quantities and pricing. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing tender documents, conducting site visits when required, performing cost comparisons, and supporting negotiation with vendors and subcontractors. The Estimation Engineer will also contribute to value engineering, maintain estimation databases, and ensure that estimates align with company standards, client requirements, and statutory norms. Collaboration with engineering teams to refine designs for cost-efficiency and timely approvals will be a key part of the role.
Qualifications
Strong project estimation skills, including experience with BOQ preparation and cost analysis for MEP and solar projects.
Solid foundation in Civil Engineering or related engineering disciplines, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Competence in research and data gathering to support accurate estimating, benchmarking, and value engineering.
Effective negotiation skills for vendor and subcontractor pricing, terms, and contract conditions.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) from an accredited institution; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
Proficiency in estimation and planning software (e.g., Excel, ERP, or specialized estimation tools) and familiarity with industry codes and standards.
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work on-site in Ludhiana, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple tenders and projects to tight deadlines.
Prior experience in industrial solar, MEPF, or EPC environments is highly preferred.
