Role Description The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the university’s campus network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring network performance, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, managing switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, and ensuring robust network security across all academic and administrative facilities. The role also involves supporting faculty, staff, and students with connectivity requirements, documenting network configurations, and collaborating with IT team members on upgrades and new projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based at SGT University in Gurugram, requiring regular presence on campus to support operations and respond promptly to network incidents.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design, including configuring and optimizing switches, routers, and wireless networks.
Candidates should possess solid Network Administration skills, including monitoring, maintenance, and documentation of network devices and services.
Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve connectivity, performance, and configuration issues efficiently.
Candidates should possess expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, access control, and best practices for protecting institutional data.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field; professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly beneficial.
Experience with campus or enterprise networks, knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, and Wi-Fi technologies, and familiarity with ITIL-based support processes.
Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards for a diverse academic community.
