Job Description:
What you will deliver
Design and build backend services and platform components (Go, gRPC) that are scalable, secure and resilient across multiple AWS regions
Partner with mobile (iOS/Android), product, security and vendor teams to deliver end-to-end customer features
Own delivery end to end — design documents, code, tests, deployment pipelines and production operations
Set and uphold engineering standards for code quality, reviews, testing, observability and secure coding
Lead technical decisions across markets and guide the team through complex third-party integrations (payments, loyalty, identity, content)
Drive reliability, performance and cost efficiency of the platform
Mentor engineers and help grow the team's capability
What you will need
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
Must have:
12+ years of software engineering experience with recent, hands-on backend development
Strong Go (or deep experience in a comparable language with willingness to work in Go), plus gRPC/Protocol Buffers and API design
Solid AWS experience — ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, load balancing, and infrastructure as code (CDK or Terraform)
Proven track record designing and operating distributed, multi-region systems in production
Excellent communication; comfortable working across teams, time zones and vendors
Should have:
Experience building or working closely with consumer mobile apps (iOS/Android)
Experience with observability — metrics, logs and traces (Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar)
Good to have:
CI/CD with Azure DevOps; TypeScript for infrastructure code
Consumer mobile app backend experience at scale
Hands-on experience applying AI in engineering — AI-assisted development tools or building AI-enabled feature
