Backend Engineering Internship
We are looking for a Backend Engineering Intern who is passionate about building scalable web applications and solving real-world engineering challenges.
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with experienced developers and product managers to build and enhance core modules of Songdew’s technology platform.
Successful interns may be offered a full-time Software Engineer position upon completion of the internship.
What You Will Work On
Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django
Design and build RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications
Work with MySQL and MongoDB databases for application development and optimization
Implement caching mechanisms and performance enhancements
Participate in designing scalable and secure system architecture
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues
Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code
Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver features
Participate in code reviews and engineering discussions
Skills We Are Looking ForMust Have
Strong knowledge of Python
Good understanding of Django Framework
Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Familiarity with REST APIs
Working knowledge of MySQL
Understanding of MongoDB
Familiarity with Git
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
At least one live project/website deployed (academic, freelance, personal, or internship project)
Good To Have
Exposure to Redis, Memcached, or caching frameworks
Knowledge of Docker
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
Exposure to background jobs, queues, and distributed systems
Experience with Linux environments
Eligibility
B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
Final-year students, recent graduates, or candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience
Available for a minimum 6-month internship
