Transportation Planner
Blue Yonder TMS · Savintosh Solutions · Bengaluru
About Savintosh
Savintosh is a boutique consultancy and product company focused on transportation management, particularly Blue Yonder TMS and SAP TM. We are a young company, built by people with long careers in this space, including former Blue Yonder product leaders. We are growing quickly and looking for the right people to help our customers run better supply chains.
About the role
We are building a transportation planning team that moves freight across the Americas, Europe and Asia on Blue Yonder TMS. Air, ocean and road, carrying high-value equipment, including the oversized and time-critical shipments that need someone to think about them properly.
Most shipments plan themselves. The ones that don't, come to you. Something in the data, the constraints or the network stopped the optimiser solving it, and it becomes your call how that freight actually moves: which carrier, which route, what it costs, and how it still lands on the promised date. You'll deal directly with carriers and forwarders to make it happen, and you'll have the room to make those decisions rather than pass them upward.
Because the freight moves around the clock, so does the team, and you'll work a rotating shift roster across the three regions. What you get in return is genuinely interesting freight to plan, real ownership of your shift, and the chance to learn Blue Yonder TMS properly from people who helped build it. Most days you can see the result of your decisions before you log off.
What you will be doing
▪ Running the daily plan in Blue Yonder TMS and meeting regional cut-off times.
▪ Picking up shipments the optimiser could not plan, working out why, and manually planning them.
▪ Building consolidated loads and multi-stop routes that balance cost, service and truck utilisation.
▪ Tendering loads to carriers and chasing acceptance, capacity and pickup.
▪ Handling exceptions: missed pickups, delays, capacity failures, and the shipments that simply have to move today.
▪ Working the awkward ones: oversized equipment, dangerous goods, high-value and time-critical freight.
▪ Recording what happened and why, so recurring problems can be fixed properly rather than worked around every week.
▪ Handing over cleanly to the next region at the end of your shift.
What we are looking for
▪ Two to six years of hands-on transportation planning, freight operations or logistics execution. This is the core requirement.
▪ Experience operating a TMS day to day. Blue Yonder TMS is ideal. Oracle OTM, SAP TM or Manhattan TMS are fine too, provided your domain understanding is strong.
▪ A working understanding of FTL and LTL, multi-modal movements, consolidation and routing.
▪ Comfort with data. You should be able to open a spreadsheet of a few thousand rows and find the problem in it.
▪ Willingness to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
Helpful, but not essential
▪ Blue Yonder Transportation Management Functional Consultant certification.
▪ International freight: air, ocean, customs and cross-border movements.
What we offer
▪ Blue Yonder depth. Our leadership team includes former Blue Yonder product and practice leaders. You will learn this platform properly.
▪ A career in planning. We are looking for people who want to get genuinely good at transportation planning and optimisation, and we will invest in that.
▪ Real scale. International freight for a global manufacturer across three regions, not a single lane.
▪ A new team. Early joiners will shape how it runs rather than inherit someone else's process.
▪ Compensation: We pay above market for this role.
