Role Description The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Gopalganj, responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe working environment across all project sites. This role includes conducting regular safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Safety Officer will organize and deliver safety training sessions, support risk assessments, and lead accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining safety documentation, coordinating with site management and workers, and providing guidance on occupational health and security measures. The Safety Officer will collaborate with project teams to continuously improve safety performance and foster a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Health & Safety principles and Occupational Health practices, with the ability to apply them on construction or infrastructure project sites.
Experience in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
Competence in Safety Training, with the ability to design and deliver training sessions for workers and supervisors.
Understanding of Security considerations related to site access, asset protection, and workforce safety.
Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field; professional safety certifications are an advantage.
Familiarity with local safety regulations and standards applicable to infrastructure and construction projects in India.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide teams on safety practices.
Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and readiness to work on-site in Gopalganj under varying field conditions.
