Job Description – OpenStack / Virtualization Engineer
We are looking for a hands-on OpenStack / Virtualization Engineer with strong knowledge of Linux, virtualization, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
Work extensively with Linux systems, including system administration, troubleshooting, networking, storage, and performance optimization.
Manage and troubleshoot virtualization technologies including KVM/QEMU and other virtualization platforms.
Work with Software Defined Networking technologies such as Open vSwitch (OVS) and OVN.
Configure and troubleshoot networking concepts including:
VLANs
Bridges
Bonding
Routing
NAT
Security Groups / Firewalling
High Availability networking
Manage databases such as MariaDB/MySQL, including troubleshooting, replication, clustering, backups, and performance.
Work with infrastructure services and components commonly used in private cloud environments, including messaging, caching, load balancing, APIs, containers, and high availability services.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, networking, storage, and database layers.
Participate in automation, deployment, upgrades, patching, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
Required SkillsStrong hands-on experience with Linux, preferably Ubuntu.
Good understanding of OpenStack architecture and its core services.
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially KVM/QEMU.
Hands-on experience with Open vSwitch (OVS) and/or OVN.
Strong understanding of Linux and cloud networking.
Experience with MariaDB/MySQL administration and troubleshooting.
Understanding of HA, clustering, load balancing, and distributed systems.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
Good to HaveKnowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as:
Prometheus
Grafana
OpenSearch
ELK/EFK stack
Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
Knowledge of Ceph or other distributed storage systems.
Experience with Proxmox or other virtualization platforms.
Knowledge of Docker and container-based infrastructure.
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
Understanding of cloud security, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.
Preferred CandidateThe ideal candidate should be a hands-on infrastructure engineer who is comfortable troubleshooting issues across multiple layers, including Linux, virtualization, networking, databases, storage, and cloud infrastructure.The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be comfortable working directly with production environments and complex infrastructure issues.
