Senior Software Test Engineer

Shift Hours: US EST Overlap (Afternoon Start to 12:00 AM IST)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Lead to steer our test automation strategy and lead our offshore engineering team in Chennai. In this high-impact role, you will act as the primary bridge between our client stakeholders and the technical delivery team.
You will manage end-to-end quality assurance across our AWS-hosted cloud applications and legacy bare-metal systems (including REST APIs in Node.js/Java and Oracle databases). The ideal candidate combines hands-on automation expertise using Selenium and Postman with strong leadership skills to guide offshore execution and drive client-facing status reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the direct liaison for client communication, translating business requirements into testing requirements, managing expectations, and delivering transparent status reports.
Offshore QA Leadership: Lead, mentor, and direct the daily tasks of the offshore testing team in Chennai to ensure alignment with project goals and delivery timelines.
Test Strategy & Architecture: Architect, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks for REST APIs using Postman and web UIs using Selenium.
Environment Execution: Manage multi-tier testing strategies across Dev, Test, Stage, and Prod environments hosted on AWS and legacy bare-metal infrastructure.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites directly into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) for continuous regression and smoke testing.
Defect Oversight: Oversee end-to-end defect management workflows, leading triage meetings with development teams to ensure fast issue resolution.
Shift Alignment: Work aligned with US Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap, starting in the afternoon and maintaining operational coverage until 12:00 AM IST.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Experience: 6+ years of total experience in Quality Assurance with at least 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or client-facing role.
Client Liaison: Demonstrated capability to own client relationship channels, articulate risks clearly, and drive solution-oriented discussions.
Automation Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience with Selenium (Java/Python/JavaScript) and Postman (REST API testing, runner execution, Newman script integration).
Environment & Stack Experience: Proven experience testing in AWS cloud environments alongside microservices built in Node.js and Java interacting with Oracle databases.
CI/CD & DevOps Alignment: Practical experience triggering and monitoring automated test builds within GitHub Actions workflows.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
