Role Description The Accounts Intern / Audit Assistant is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting the accounting and audit functions of JBATA’s clients. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with the preparation and review of financial statements, organizing source documents, and supporting the compilation of audit reports. The role involves participating in financial audits, performing basic analytical procedures, and helping identify variances or irregularities in client records. The intern/assistant will collaborate with senior accountants and auditors, maintain accurate workpapers, and ensure that documentation aligns with regulatory and internal standards. Additional responsibilities may include data entry, reconciliations, and contributing to process improvements within the finance and audit workflows.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills related to Financial Statements and Finance, including an understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Candidates should possess skills related to Financial Audits and Audit Reports, including familiarity with audit processes, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven recommendations.
Relevant skills such as proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities are beneficial.
A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (completed or in progress) is preferred, along with good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with team members across different locations.
