Company Description Instrumentation Automation Surveillance & Communication Sector Skill Council (IASC SSC) is an autonomous, industry-led, not-for-profit organization under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Supported by the Department of Heavy Industries and the National Skill Development Corporation, IASC SSC focuses on building skilled manpower for the instrumentation, automation, surveillance, and communication sectors. The Council develops National Occupational Standards and Qualification Packs aligned with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF), certifies skilled professionals, and accredits training providers and assessors across India. Its long-term objectives include certifying millions of learners, training thousands of trainers and assessors, and strengthening human capital market information systems and skill gap analysis. IASC SSC aims to create a win–win ecosystem for industry and skilled employees, where formal education and skill development are aligned and mutually recognized.
Role Description The Assistant – Standards Department will support the development, review, and maintenance of National Occupational Standards and Qualification Packs for various job roles within the IASC sectors. This role involves coordinating with industry experts, training partners, and internal teams to collect inputs, compile documentation, and ensure alignment with NSQF guidelines. The Assistant will help prepare reports, maintain databases and records, assist in organizing meetings and workshops, and follow up on actions related to accreditation, curriculum updates, and standards implementation. The role also includes basic data analysis, drafting official communications, and supporting research activities such as skill gap studies and manpower mapping. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi.
Qualifications
Possess strong documentation, drafting, and basic report-writing skills, with the ability to prepare structured technical and administrative content.
Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database or spreadsheet management for maintaining records and standards-related information.
Exhibit good coordination, organizational, and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meetings, and follow-ups with stakeholders.
Have effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with industry representatives, training partners, and government agencies.
Show aptitude for research, data collection, and basic analysis related to skill gap studies, manpower mapping, and standards development.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as engineering, science, education, management, or a related field; a background in instrumentation, automation, surveillance, or communication is an advantage.
Bring prior experience or internship exposure in standards development, skill development, education administration, or sector skill councils (preferred but not mandatory).
Display a detail-oriented, ethical, and collaborative work approach, with readiness to learn, adapt to guidelines, and support continuous improvement in the Standards Department
