Role Description The Supervisor role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Visakhapatnam Area. This role oversees day-to-day operations related to cargo handling, warehousing, and logistics activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards. The Supervisor coordinates with port, warehouse, and transport teams to manage scheduling, resource allocation, and timely movement of goods. Responsibilities include monitoring staff performance, resolving operational issues, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement in workflows and customer service. The role also involves reporting on operational metrics to management and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve service and productivity goals.
Qualifications
Operational supervision skills in logistics, warehousing, or shipping, with the ability to manage day-to-day activities and meet service targets.
Strong team leadership and people management capabilities, including task delegation, performance monitoring, and staff training.
Knowledge of port operations, cargo handling processes, and safety and regulatory compliance relevant to industrial and maritime environments.
Proficiency in documentation, basic computer usage, and record-keeping for inventory, shipment tracking, and reporting.
Effective communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams, customers, and external partners.
Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, commerce, engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Prior experience in shipping, warehousing, or industrial operations in the Greater Visakhapatnam Area or similar port environments is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
