Responsibilities:
Organizational Leadership: Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering organization. You will be responsible for the hiring, retention, and professional growth of Engineering Managers and Lead Engineers.
Strategic Roadmapping: Partner with Product and Clinical teams to translate business vision into a multi-quarter technical roadmap, balancing rapid feature delivery with long-term platform stability.
Architectural Stewardship: Provide high-level architectural guidance for distributed systems. Ensure our AI-powered technology remains scalable, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations (HIPAA/SOC2).
Operational Excellence: Champion a culture of "substance over hype. " "Drive best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident management to ensure 99.9% availability of mission-critical clinical systems.
Cross-functional Influence: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders (Clinicians, Sales, and Founders), simplifying complex technical trade-offs to drive informed business decisions.
Requirements:
Experience: 10+ years of full-time engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in a people management role (managing at least 8-15+ engineers or managing other managers).
Technical Depth: Expert proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) and microservices architecture. You should still be "dangerous" enough to conduct deep-dive code reviews and lead System Design sessions (HLD/LLD).
Scale: Proven track record of scaling products from 1 to N, handling massive increases in data volume and user concurrency in a cloud environment (AWS preferred).
Domain: Prior experience in AI-driven products, FinTech, or Health Tech is highly desirable. You understand the nuances of working with LLMs, vector databases, and data-sensitive environments.
Leadership Traits: Strong evidence of an "ownership mindset, " someone who has led teams through ambiguity, pivots, and rapid growth cycles.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience building Agentic AI solutions or working with RAG pipelines.
Contribute to open-source projects or have a strong presence in the engineering community.
Previous experience in a YCombinator-backed or high-growth Series A/B startup.
