Staff Fullstack Engineer - Java

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Staff Engineer /Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Java reactive programming to lead the design and development of large-scale, cloud-native backend platforms. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Reactor/WebFlux, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will drive architecture, mentor engineers, and build highly scalable, secure, and resilient systems for enterprise-grade applications.
Responsibilities:
Own the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Design and build highly scalable, reactive microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Reactor/WebFlux.
Lead architectural discussions and ensure solutions adhere to scalability, performance, reliability, and security best practices.
Design and develop RESTful APIs following OpenAPI 3 x standards.
Drive implementation of cloud-native solutions on GCP/Kubernetes environments.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Platform teams to deliver robust and secure solutions.
Define and implement Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), including performance, resiliency, observability, and availability.
Ensure production readiness through monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
Requirements:
12+ years of software engineering experience with strong expertise in Java backend development.
Strong hands-on experience in reactive programming using Reactor/WebFlux (mandatory).
Expert-level proficiency in Java (JDK 17+), Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
Extensive experience designing and implementing microservices architecture.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, concurrency, and high-availability architectures.
Experience building and securing APIs using REST/HTTP, OpenAPI 3 x, and OAuth 2.0
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with automated testing frameworks, including JUnit and Mockito.
Strong experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including GKE, IAM, and observability services.
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Technical Stack:
