The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of medium- to large-scale projects from initiation to closure. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with CIBC's policies and procedures. The incumbent collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages stakeholder expectations, and leads project teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end technology and application migration projects using consolidation infrastructure solutions, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including application development, operations, engineering, and vendors.
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and stay within budget.
Track and reconcile financials, ensuring resolution of anomalies; update and reconcile the latest estimates, ensuring actuals to plan; make recommendations, escalating as appropriate.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate migration risks, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Oversee testing, validation, and post-migration support activities.
Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in migration methodologies.
Develop, track, and manage project budgets, plans, timelines, and scope.
Oversee project staff, delegating tasks to appropriate leads.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and project progress.
Ensure adherence to systems development and project management processes.
Conduct and monitor risk assessments, addressing issues proactively.
Present updates to steering committees or project sponsors.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams on medium- to large-scale projects.
Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
Plan, execute, control, and close projects in alignment with CIBC policies and procedures.
Cross-Functional Relationships:
Work closely with business analysts, development, and QA teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to coordinate project activities.
Regularly interact with steering committees or project sponsors to present updates and receive feedback.
Compliance Requirments/Responisibilities:
As an employee of CIBC, the incumbent must comply with all applicable CIBC and Line of Business policies, standards, guidelines, and controls.

As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
Experience: 7+ years of experience.
Individual contributor role focused on project coordination, release planning and coordination, and governance across one or more delivery streams (acting as a junior project coordination function).
Applies governance standards and continuous improvement practices to strengthen release quality, control compliance, and operational stability.
Must Have Skills:
7+ years of project management experience, preferably in a technology or financial services environment, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Expertise in both waterfall and Agile
Good understanding of application architectures, cloud platforms, and migration strategies (e. g., lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-architecting).
Proficient with project management tools (e. g., MS Project, ServiceNow) and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Extensive experience in managing technology and business projects with a high degree of complexity, systems integration, and organizational change management. Strong technical skills and experience with project management methodologies.
Experience with systems development life cycle (SDLC) and project management processes with strong understanding of change and risk management, SDLC, and advanced knowledge of Agile Project Management Workflows, including sprint backlogs, milestones, release burndowns, and work-back schedules.
A proactive, can-do attitude with a sense of urgency and flexibility, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience preparing and presenting cost-benefit analyses.
Proficiency in leading cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Good-to-have skills:
Experience with cloud migration (AWS, Azure, Softlayer) is a plus.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in application migration.
PMP, PRINCE2 or similar project management certification preferred.
