We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with strong experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2 and VSAM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications while ensuring high performance, reliability, and quality.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL.
Create and modify JCL for batch processing and job scheduling.
Design, develop, and optimize DB2 databases, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
Work with VSAM datasets, including KSDS, ESDS, and RRDS.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Collaborate with business analysts, testers, and cross-functional teams.
Prepare technical documentation and maintain application support documentation.
Requirements:
Strong programming experience in COBOL.
Good knowledge of JCL and batch processing.
Hands-on experience with DB2 SQL, and database performance tuning.
Experience with VSAM file structures and file handling.
Knowledge of CICS and IBM z/OS is an advantage.
Familiarity with source control and change management tools such as Endevor or Changeman.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
