Test Automation Strategy:
Design and own the overall test automation framework and strategy.
Define and enforce testing best practices across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
Drive architecture decisions for automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and test observability.
Establish standards for test data management, environment consistency, and test reliability.
Lead performance testing initiatives, including load, stress, spike, and soak testing.
Define performance baselines, service-level objectives (SLOs), and regression gates.
Build scalable performance testing frameworks using tools such as Locust, k6 or equivalent.
Analyze application performance using profiling and observability tools to identify bottlenecks.
Technical Leadership:
Champion quality engineering practices across engineering teams.
Mentor engineers on automation frameworks, testing strategies, and code quality.
Partner with product managers to define acceptance criteria and quality gates.
Drive root cause analysis for production defects and implement preventive quality measures.
Requirements:
8+ years of experience in software quality engineering with strong expertise in test automation.
Proven experience defining and leading automation strategies for distributed systems.
Expert-level proficiency in Python for automation development.
Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end web automation.
Strong understanding of FastAPI and Django for API and backend testing.
Extensive experience with performance testing methodologies (load, stress, soak, spike testing).
Experience testing cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, event-driven systems, and cloud services.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working on large-scale distributed systems.
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures.
Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices.
