Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to help build and scale the backend of our product. The ideal candidate should have strong Data Structures and Algorithms and System Design skills, along with hands-on experience developing production-grade backend systems. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams to solve complex problems, design scalable backend architecture, and build reliable services that can support the growth of the product.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services.
Solve complex engineering problems using strong Data Structures and Algorithms.
Participate in High-Level and Low-Level System Design and make appropriate architectural decisions.
Build APIs, services, and backend components that are efficient and production-ready.
Design and optimise databases, data models, queries, and data access layers.
Work on scalability, performance, reliability, and fault tolerance of backend systems.
Identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions.
Write clean, efficient, well-tested, and maintainable code.
Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to build end-to-end product features.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements:
3-6 years of experience in backend software development.
Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Java, Python, Go, Node.js, or C++.
Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, and problem-solving.
Good hands-on understanding of System Design, HLD, and LLD.
Ability to design backend systems with considerations around scalability, performance, availability, reliability, and maintainability.
Experience building and working with REST APIs and backend services.
Good understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases and database design.
Understanding of concepts such as caching, concurrency, distributed systems, message queues, and API design.
Experience working with Git, testing, debugging, and production deployments.
Strong ownership and ability to independently solve technical problems.
Good to have:
Experience working in SaaS, product-based, fintech, HR-tech, or other high-growth environments.
Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures.
Experience with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
Familiarity with cloud-native development and observability tools.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
