SDE - 1 (Node.js)

Responsibilities:
Implement REST APIs and backend features within services owned by your team, following established design patterns and code standards.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, applying clean architecture and SOLID principles with guidance from senior engineers.
Contribute to AI-enhanced or agent-driven backend features using tools like LangChain or CrewAI under the mentorship of senior engineers.
Test your code thoroughly to ensure responsiveness, correctness, and efficiency before raising it for review.
Participate actively in code reviews, both receiving feedback to grow and reviewing peers' code where appropriate.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate UI elements with backend services.
Help troubleshoot application-related issues and assist senior engineers and the infrastructure team during incident triage.
Research and learn new tools, libraries, and patterns, and propose improvements where you see opportunities.
Assist with software installation, configuration, and deployment on servers across cloud and on-premise environments.
Support deployments through CI/CD pipelines, including releases to on-prem and State Data Center (SDC) environments where applicable.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
3 years of professional backend engineering experience. Strong fresh graduates with solid CS fundamentals and meaningful internship or project work are welcome to apply.
Strong working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) and Node.js .
Working knowledge of frameworks like Express.js (Restify experience is a plus).
Foundational understanding of Node.js concepts, including the event loop and asynchronous programming.
Strong fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
Experience working with MySQL and exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB.
Ability to write SQL queries (familiarity with joins, indexing, and basic optimisation). ConveGenius.
Basic understanding of REST API design and HTTP fundamentals.
Awareness of clean architecture and SOLID principles, with willingness to apply them in practice.
Basic Linux knowledge of common commands and installing packages such as MySQL, Java, and Node.js .
Basic OS and application troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Git and standard branching workflows.
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e. g., Cursor and GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development and support efficient coding practices is a must.

Exposure to building backend services that handle data at scale.
Understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication.
Experience with WebSockets or real-time communication patterns.
Basic knowledge of AWS and Docker containerisation.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Exposure to on-premise infrastructure, including State Data Centres (SDCs), NIC, or other government data centres.
Awareness of virtualisation platforms (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, Nutanix) or container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix, Nagios).
Knowledge of front-end frameworks like ReactJS.
Familiarity with Python.
